Two Lines in Heaven?

November 23, 2010

I have come to the point in my walk with God through my understanding of His word that it is important for us to understand that Jesus, through what He was called to do upon the cross and ultimately through His resurection, finished the work of sanctification. When people start listening to and studying stuff from the NAR (New Apostolic Reformation) teachers such as Paul Caine, Bob Jones, Ryan Wyatt, Todd Bentley, Patricia King, Joshua Mills and so many others, they start feeling powerful and somehow begin to sense that it is THEY who are going to prepare God’s Kingdom SO that Jesus CAN return to find them sanctified because of the WORK they did. It’s a subtle twist but in the end it leaves two lines; One waiting to present themselves naked and powerless before the Lord, humbled by what HE has done for THEM and another line (a longer one, sadly) waiting eagerly to show the Lord how much THEY’VE done for HIM. When I think of this idea I am reminded of Matthew 7:23 – “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” What a terrible day that will be for some. I remain in prayer.

Are there prophets in the church today?

October 12, 2010

It always seemed strange to me when someone would say they were “getting a download from God” and that this download was supposed to be some word of prophecy that would bring us new revelation. I started to do some reading and studying (starting with the Bible and a good study guide) and began to write my findings. Then I stumbled upon a writing at “Got Questions dot ORG” and found that their writing was more concise than what I had been trying to write so I just copied and pasted. Here it is!

Question: “Are there prophets in the church today?” (more…)

March 10, 2010

I believe God can and does heal people and do miracles today. God is awesome, He is good and He is omnipotent! He can do whatever He wants, when He wants to! However, the fact remains that there is very little concrete proof of miracles ever actually happening to regular Christians since the passing of the apostles in the New Testament. I see a lot of product for sale that will teach us how to get healed and I have felt a lot of guilt associated with why I don’t get healed or see others healed. (See “The Ministry of Healing and the Business of Miracles.”)

Joel’s Army ~ Army of Anointed People or Swarm of Locusts?

March 10, 2010

Over the past few years, intrigued by a seemingly blatant error in the church known as Kingdom Now Theology, I have been watching and waiting to see what would happen to the Church as a result of teachings from the “Manifest Sons of God/Joel’s Army” movement that seems to have gained momentum in the Charismatic/Evangelical Church led by the likes of Mike Bickle and Rick Joyner in the wake of William Branham’s wave of “Latter Rain” teachings from the 1950s.

Question – Is God Keeping a Record? Rev. 20:12 / Heb 8:12

February 19, 2010

Lately I’ve been thinking about the idea that there is a record book with names in it that the Bible says Jesus will refer to when considering us for Heaven or Hell. I’m a little confused because there is a message preached in churches and in worship songs that says, “God keeps no record of our shame/sins.”

Bible Study of Malachai 3:10 ~ Blessed Because You Tithe?

February 15, 2010

A false teaching that is prevalent in many Christian churches these days is one that says, “You will be blessed because you tithe.” That is, give money to your church or pastor. You will hear things like, “You will be blessed beyond anything you can imagine, pressed down, running over, you can’t out-give God! And so on and so on.” But in reality, this is simply not true. Bible Study ~ Hebrews 13:17 ~ Obedience

February 15, 2010

Preamble: Please don’t misunderstand the following conclusions I have made…I do not wish to suggest that anyone should never heed the advice of a pastor. A pastor should expect that some people might want help with making certain decisions. My purpose here is to prove that a Pastor should not be the final judge of all of your decisions nor are they in any position to dictate how you behave outside of the church building or apart from the institution known as the church. The Holy Spirit is your guide for your behaviour apart from the church building.

Bible Study – Hebrews 11:1 – Is Faith Evidence?

February 10, 2010

Heb. 11:1 reads: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. KJV

Question: How can FAITH be EVIDENCE?
